FOUR SEASONS NEW ORLEANS

The iconic 34-story tower was originally built in 1968 as the World Trade Center and International Trade Mart, designed by renowned modernist architect Edward Durell Stone (known for New York's MoMA and the Kennedy Center) to commemorate New Orleans' 250th anniversary. Its distinctive cross-shaped design aligns with the cardinal directions, symbolizing the city's role in global commerce.

After the World Trade Center closed in 2011 (post-Hurricane Katrina impacts), the vacant building sparked debates over demolition versus preservation. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. In 2018, a multi-year, over $500 million renovation transformed it into the Four Seasons Hotel (with 341 rooms) and 92 private residences on the upper floors.

The hotel officially opened in August 2021, marking Four Seasons' debut in New Orleans and representing the city's spirit of resilience and rebirth.
